A whole host of equipment options for site-specific configurations
Our wide range of specialised technical solutions mean we can customise your ENERCON wind turbines so they are perfectly adapted to your chosen site and its conditions. Flexible features guarantee you high-yield performance even in demanding climate and environmental conditions, optimum grid integration and a number of additional safety functions.
We would be happy to let you know whether a particular feature is available for your chosen wind turbine type.
Various systems for automatically detecting ice comply with regulatory requirements and reliably prevent damage to the rotor blades.
Power curve ice detection method
Wölfel IDD.Blade® system for ice detection
An automatic blade heating system warms the surface of the rotor blades to reduce wind turbine downtimes caused by ice forming on the blades.
Additional warning lights indicate situations where ice throw should be expected in certain marked zones.
Making site-specific adjustments to the control system can further boost the yield of your wind turbine.
Regulating wind turbines automatically according to specific local weather conditions prevents the dynamic formation of shadows.
Shadow shutdown built into the nacelle
Technical equipment and various operating modes meet noise reduction requirements depending on the wind conditions and/or time of day.
Operating modes for noise optimisation
Trailing edge serrations (TES)
With ENERCON SCADA Bat Protection mode you can comply with species conservation requirements at times when there is a lot of bat activity.
Flexible daytime and nighttime beacon solutions to mark your wind turbines as a warning to aviation traffic.
Flashing warning lights for day and night
Obstruction beacon/tower beacon
Needs-based nighttime marking
ARC-SIRIL beacon concept with reduced visibility from the ground
Systems for controlling and synchronising beacons
Storm control is a limiting operating mode that reduces downtimes caused by excessive wind speeds and helps to have more AEP (annuel energy production) at sites with high wind speeds and more stable power feed to the grid
This system ensures that the wind turbine can be aligned with the wind for a certain period even if there is a power failure, which means it will still be protected from damage when wind speeds are high.
The fire protection system consists of preventive fire protection measures and fire extinguishing equipment inside the wind turbine.
The lightning protection system protects the wind turbine from damage caused by lightning strikes.
ENERCON Smart Energise reduces the transformer inrush current and thus the grid load at the moment of switch-on.
If there is a frequency drop in the grid, ENERCON wind turbines can temporarily increase their power output slightly to support the grid.
All ENERCON wind turbines can provide reactive power to a certain extent, which helps the grid operator with voltage control. The reactive power range can be extended if required or even set to be completely independent of the current wind speed (STATCOM option).
