Polat Enerji and ENERCON expand partnership

Signing of contracts for further projects with a total capacity of 110.5 MW

Polat Enerji, Türkiye's largest wind energy investors, is relying on ENERCON technology to expand its onshore projects. Recently, both sides signed contracts for a total capacity of 110.5 MW spread over three wind farms.

The contracts consider the expansion of three wind farms including  Yalova/Göktepe 4 wind farm project with 17 E-160 EP5 turbines, the  Kırşehir/Geycek 3 wind farm project with 2 E-160 EP5 turbines and  İzmir/Ege 3 wind farm project with 2 E-82 as well as an operation and maintenance agreement (EPK) for 15 years which includes availability and spare parts guarantees for all three sites.

Relying on the experience of numerous previous projects, we support our customer with extensive site assessments to find the most efficient site layout in the challenging terrain. Besides that, we care about all questions of logistics, construction site preparation, installation and connection to the grid.

The ENERCON and Polat Enerji teams are glad to continue the trustful collaboration with the expansion of three wind farms in Türkiye.

ENERCON CCO Uli Schulze Südhoff underlines the strategic priority of the Turkish market: ‘We are pleased to extend our activities together with Polat Enerji in Türkiye. Another proof that our product portfolio fits ideally the local framework and wind conditions.’

‘The latest contract signing means also advancing our technology towards more hybrid solutions together with our customer’, Arif Günyar, Regional Head CAMEA, states. ‘In the case of Göktepe wind farm, it is planned to integrate a battery storage system connected to the turbines. The cooperation with Polat Enerji can therefore serve as an example to support similar projects in the future with our portfolio.’

Neşet Özgür Cireli, Polat Energy Board Member says, ‘ENERCON wind turbines have already proven to be very reliable and robust in existing projects. Our current installed capacity is 735 MW, and 31 MW capacity extension wind farm projects are under construction. We are pleased to advance our commitment to wind energy in Türkiye together with ENERCON and to increase our total onshore capacity to 876 MW through the new projects.’
